An exhibit for nature lovers to swoon over.
"In our hyper-accelerated, digital world, many of us are experiencing a loss of profound and meaningful connection to nature. American children spend half as much time outside as their parents did. Yet we have a deep and enduring urge, known as biophilia, to connect with the natural world." - Denver Art Museum exhibit introduction
This exhibition explores the transformative role of nature in our lives, and reminds us of how nature enriches us.
When viewing the varied pieces in the exhibit architecture (including the brand new Populus Hotel in Denver), furniture, fashion, digital, and other incredible artistically design and conjured items, we are invited to slow down and pay closer attention to form, movement, color, transformation, and even intrusion, prompting a deeper awareness of the natural world and the sense of wonder it evokes.
"This exhibit is a call to action, urging us to reconnect with nature."
For those who appreciate and love nature, this is a don't miss. Truly memorable.
Biophilia at the Denver Art Museum is on through August 11, 2024, and includes 80 pieces. Included with general admission.
"Fractals are never ending patterns that grow in complexity as they become larger, like the repeating branches of trees. Abundantly found in nature, fractal patterns can range from as small as a snowflake to as large as a mountain range. Studies show that viewing fractals, even for a short time, helps relieve stress." - Denver Art Museum
